Andrew Yencken

Biography

Andrew grew up in Hobart and in Melbourne and now lives and works in Sydney. He is a composer, producer and writer who has worked in radio, film, television, dance and theatre productions throughout Australia. Between 1978 and 1990 he was extensively involved in multicultural music events in Melbourne and since his move to Sydney in 1992 he has specialised in new methods of sound recording and production.

He is best known for his radiophonic compositions which have been featured on The Listening Room (ABC Radio) and on overseas networks including SRC (Canada) ORF (Austria) and WDR (Germany).

Andrew worked with Richard James Allen and Karen Pearlman at Tasdance on Blue Cities, What To Name Your Baby, Sam in a Pram and Thursday's Fictions.
