Raymond van der Plas
Raymond first studied classical ballet in Townsville and from 1977 to 1978 performed with the North Queensland Ballet Company. In 1980 he was accepted into the Australian Ballet School, where he studied classical and modern dance for 18 months before joining the Tasmanian Dance Company in June 1981 as a founding member.
Raymond choreographed a solo Wave for the Company's 1982-83 repertoire. He returned to Townsville in 1984, but Raymond rejoined the company in 1985 for two more years. During his time at Tasdance Raymond performed in numerous works throughout Tasmania. Raymond choreographed In Leaps and Bounds for Tasdance in 1986.
