Robert Tinning is a graduate of the WAAPA BA Dance course of 2014 and a Link Dancer from the 2015 year group. Originally from San Lorenzo, Ecuador, Robert was born into the rich Latin American Culture, immersed in traditional Latin Amercian Dance and street Latin styles. Robert’s conscious dance journey began at the age of 7 when he started teaching himself Hip Hop Street Dance styles and then continuing on to his begin forays into Contemporary Dance at the age of 14 and onwards into tertiary education at WAAPA, graduating in 2014. Over his 4 year tenure (with the inclusion of Link Dance Company) he has trained and performed under a wide variety of industry professionals such as; Emma Fishwick; Justin Rutzou; Sue Peacock; Xiao Xiong Zhang; Natalie Allen’s re-mount of The Land of Yes & The Land of No, Gabrielle Nankivell, Didier Theron and being casted for Shaun Parker & Company’s work titled King premiering in 2019. 2016 saw him performing in Liesel Zink’s The Stance at the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) and in Tasdance’s evolve: revolve season. Robert also performed in Fragile Matter.
