Jason Sweeney


Jason is an Adelaide based writer, performance-maker and musician/sound artist. Since 1992 he has developed a strong body of devised ensemble and solo performance, sound based and live art work and has undertaken two residencies in Banff Centre for the Arts (Canada), artist exchanges in USA (Los Angeles and New York) and in UK (Glasgow) and in Australia (including the inaugural Time_Place_Space1 2002 hybrid arts forum, NSW).

He was sound composer working on the Chunky Move's show I Want to Dance Better at Parties which toured internationally. He records and releases CDs internationally with various music projects including Pretty Boy Crossover. In 2006 he was sound composer with pvi collective, Tanja Leidtke and Solon Ulbrich. He also undertook a one month residency for Albury's Hot House Theatre A Month In The Country program. His online and media-based work is documented at his website.

Jason composed for Tasdance in 2006 for Tanja Liedtke's work Always Building as part of the Earth Beneath our Feet season.
