Jason Northam 2010

After graduating from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) in 2001, Jason joined Expressions Dance Company's Education Team, touring extensively through schools in the state of Queensland. Following this early experience he has forged a career as an independent contemporary dancer, working with some of Australia's leading dance companies including Tasdance, Dance North and the main house company of Expressions Dance Company. He has toured regionally, nationally and internationally with these companies, highlights of which are overseas tours to China and the USA. He has worked independently in Brisbane, collaborating with emerging independent choreographers Lisa Wilson, Claire Marshall, Liesel Zink and Zaimon Vilmanis.

Jason first joined Tasdance in 2003 to perform Fair Game in Ten Days on the Island and has performed with the company in seasons of Hard Yakka (2005), Divine Harmonies (remount 2007), Parenthesis (2008) and Heart Matters (2010). Jason has also taught for Tasdance in educational and community projects. Jason co-choreographed Image with Liesel Zink for Tasdance's 2011 education project.
