Myles Mumford 1999

Myles Mumford is a composer graduating from the University of Tasmania at Launceston. His works have been performed all over Tasmania as well as interstate and overseas. Myles has received awards for orchestral compositions and had one of his original works played by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He has also played with various ensembles and orchestras. Notable performances include Still Life in 2000 for brass ensemble commissioned for Tasmanian Made – Tasmanian Played, Imaginings in 1998 for clarinet trio and percussion and Nocturne in 1997. In 2000 Myles was awarded a grant from Arts Tasmania to compose a body of work incorporating live and recorded music. Myles has collaborated with Tasdance several times, composing for Fish Fingers, Down PAT, Project 000 and Generations.
