Alicia Moran


Alicia graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Alicia performed as part of the Poetry and Dance Festival in 1997 in the Tasdance studio.  Alicia is founder and convenor of Open House, a collective which aims to provide new dancers with regular classes and the opportunity to initiate and collaborate on work. She has performed at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts and Axis Performance Space in works choreographed by members of the Open House. Her research paper "Perceptions of a Career in Dance" was presented at the 1996 Options Tertiary Dance Conference. Since then she has taught contemporary dance and classical ballet at secondary schools throughout Perth. Recently she has been studying Bharat Natyam with the Indian - Australian choreographer Rakini and performed with the Kalika Dance Company in Deva Dasis and Yantra.
