Felicity graduated from the Centre for Performing Arts, Adelaide in 1981. Working as a freelance dancer from 1982, Felicity danced in Sydney with One Extra Company, which toured to the Adelaide Festival. In 1983 she performed in several works in New Steps for the Sydney Festival and with Dance Exchange in Russell Dumas' Distinguishing Features. Felicity pursued her interest in performance improvisation with appearances at the Sydney Festival in 1983, 1984 and 1985. She joined Dance Works in Melbourne in 1984 and maintained her association with Dance Network, an organisation which provides a forum for freelance artists to show their work.
She became a member of the Tasmanian Dance Company (Tasdance) in February 1985. Since joining the Company, Felicity has choreographed Dance 4 Me for the Secondary School Programme, Turnaroundtime for the 1986 Salamanca Festival and Still Moving in 1988.
