A dancer, choreographer and educator, Bec studied at Adelaide College of the Arts, receiving the South Australian Rising Star Award. Bec then performed with Leigh Warren’s company for over five years, touring to international festivals including Edinburgh International Festival and Holland Dance Festival. In her early career, Bec worked with Paris-based creative Prue Lang and performed in her dance theatre work Rubicon in The Adelaide Festival & Frances Rings on Breathe - performing at WOMADELAIDE & also internationally. In 2011, Bec was nominated in the Australian Channel Nine Young Achiever Awards and was guest speaker for Leaps and Bounds festival. She was also the 2012 recipient of the Ausdance Outlet Award, to work with Larissa McGowan on Skeleton for the Adelaide Festival. Leigh Warren and Dancers highlights for Bec include performing in Jiri Kylian’s Dreamtime at the Oz Asia Festival, in Warren’s seminal piece The Philip Glass Trilogy with The State Opera of SA - in Einstein on the Beach, and in Spanish Tango Opera Maria de Buenos Aires. Bec regularly engages with Opera Australia and also choreographs frequently in the youth dance sector. With Tasdance, Bec has performed in Affinity (2015), evolve:revolve (2016) Hal’cyon (2016) and worked in Tasdance’s educational programs. Bec lectures tertiary BA Dance in a number of Australian institutions and is currently studying a Masters in HR.
