Katherine Gurr


Born in Surrey, England, Katherine emigrated to Adelaide, South Australia with her family in 2005. Katherine graduated from the Western Australian Academy for Performing Arts in in 2012 and was awarded with the Hawaiian Award for Dance for the most outstanding graduating student in Bachelor of Arts. Since graduating, Katherine has worked in Adelaide with Felecia Hick in From Darkness the Day and Lisa Griffiths in her work Chance, and won 2nd prize performing Rain Francis’s work in the Australian Choreographic Competition. Katherine spent time with Tasdance assisting Dean Walsh 
in the creation of a community dance performance Sub
Marine - Shining Light into
 the Depths as part of National Science Week 2013 in Hobart. In 2014, Katherine took part in the Australian Dance Theatre kickstart-mentoring program
 and was also the recipient of 
the Australia Council for the 
Arts Artstart grant, enabling her to perform with Tasdance and Dancenorth in Threefold: Gavin Webber / Raewyn Hill / Huang Yi, and to travel to Britain to further her dance career.
