Eleanor Brickhill

Eleanor trained in Sydney and spent three years 1975-77 dancing with Dance Company NSW (later renamed Sydney Dance Company) under the direction of Jaap Flier and then Graeme Murphy. The recipient of a Travel/Study grant, she performed as a soloist with London National Opera and with lan Spink's group in London 1978-79. From 1980 to 1984 she worked with Dance Exchange in Sydney under the direction of Russell Dumas, studying "postmodern" choreographic and performing techniques. In 1982 she was awarded a Choreographer's Fellowship by the Theatre Board of the Australia Council. She has spent a number of years performing, choreographing and teaching on a freelance basis, having made works for Tasdance, Expressions Dance Company (Brisbane) and Still Moves (Perth) as well as much work for other independent artists in Sydney. She has choreographed Games for 3 Dancers, Inventions and Show and Tell for Tasdance.
